Ms. Shreya Awasthi, a first-year M.F.Sc. student of ICAR–Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai, has brought laurels to the Institute by winning the Gold Medal and a cash prize of ₹1 lakh in a national essay competition organized by the CLFMA of India.
The award was presented during the 67th National Symposium and 59th Annual General Meeting of the Compound Livestock Feed Manufacturers Association (CLFMA) of India on the Indian Livestock Sector (Aqua), held on 11–12 September 2026 at The Leela, Mumbai.
The event was attended by Dr Muthukumarasamy B., Joint Secretary (NLM), Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Government of India; and Shri Divya Kumar Gulati, Chairman, CLFMA of India.
Ms Awasthi’s achievement is a proud moment for ICAR-CIFE and highlights the academic and creative excellence of its students. The Institute congratulated Ms. Shreya Awasthi on her outstanding accomplishment.
The CLFMA of India represents diverse segments of the animal protein value chain, including aquaculture. The 2026 National Symposium focused on issues related to the sustainable development of animal agriculture, with particular emphasis on the Indian livestock and aquaculture sectors.
