Kisan Sangosthi-cum-Input Distribution Programme Organized under Tribal Sub Plan at ICAR-DWR, Jabalpur

ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur, in collaboration with ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes, Hisar, and ICAR-Central Rice Research Institute, Cuttak, organized a Kisan Sangosthi-cum-Input Distribution Programme under the Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) at Dungariya village, Mandla district, Madhya Pradesh.

The event focused on promoting sustainable agriculture through “balanced fertilizer use”, scientific crop management, and improved farming practices for the upcoming Kharif season, under the theme of “Khet Bachao Abhiyan”.

Dr JS Mishra, Director, ICAR-DWR Jabalpur highlighted the importance of balance use of nutrients and role of leguminous crops in improving the nutrient-use efficiency.

During the technical session, farmers were provided guidance on the scientific utilization of agricultural inputs, cultivation and management of herbicide-tolerant rice, judicious fertiliser and other agrochemicals use, poultry management, and efficient use of poultry feed to enhance farm productivity.

As part of the programme, agricultural and livestock inputs including hybrid rice seeds, herbicide-tolerant rice seeds, herbicides, biofertilizers, poultry feed, and Kadaknath chicks were distributed to 150 tribal farmers to support agricultural production and livelihood improvement.

The programme concluded with an interactive session in which participating farmers appreciated the continued support being provided under the Tribal Sub Plan for enhancing agricultural productivity and income generation among tribal households.

A total of 204 farmers, including 132 men and 72 women from Dungariya, Mudadi, and Khuksar villages, participated in the programme.
