ICAR-CCARI, Goa Organises Training-cum-Awareness Programme on Balanced Use of Fertilizers and Sustainable Soil Health Practice

ICAR–Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa, in collaboration with the Tiswadi Agricollective Farmers Club, organized a Training-cum-Awareness Programme on “Khet Bachao Abhiyan: Balanced Use of Fertilizers and Sustainable Soil Health Practices” at a farmer’s field in Village Bambolim, Tiswadi Taluka, North Goa District, today.

During the programme, the senior officials highlighted the objectives of the Khet Bachao Abhiyan and emphasized the importance of soil test-based fertilizer application, balanced nutrient management, integrated use of organic manures, and natural farming practices for maintaining soil health, improving nutrient-use efficiency, and ensuring environmental sustainability. They also demonstrated the Fertilizer Calculator Goa mobile application developed by ICAR-CCARI and explained its utility in generating scientific fertilizer recommendations for farmers.

A total of 10 farmers participated in the programme. The participants actively interacted during the sessions and expressed keen interest in adopting soil test-based nutrient management, organic inputs, and sustainable farming practices for improving soil health and crop productivity.
