ICAR–Directorate of Floricultural Research, RS, Vemagiri participated in the Rythu Sadassu & Farmers Exhibition organized at Dr YSR Horticultural University, Venkataramannagudem, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, showcasing innovative technologies aimed at promoting sustainable horticulture and effective plant health management.
The ICAR-DFR stall featured demonstrations on soilless and alternative biochar-based growing media for ornamental plants, highlighting sustainable cultivation practices and improved growing solutions for quality ornamental crop production.
In addition, visitors were introduced to plant protection technologies against plant parasitic nematodes and management strategies for Fusarium wilt, emphasizing practical and science-based approaches to minimizing crop losses and enhancing plant health.
The exhibition witnessed active participation from farmers, students, researchers, extension personnel, and other stakeholders, who interacted with ICAR-DFR scientists to gain insights into emerging technologies and their applications in horticulture.
