ICAR–Directorate of Floricultural Research, Pune, observed the International Day of Plant Health on today with an awareness programme aimed at promoting safe and effective crop management practices among flower growers and farm workers.

On the occasion, a practical demonstration on seed treatment methods in flower crops conducted highlighting the importance of proper seed treatment techniques for improving seed health and protecting young seedlings from fungal and bacterial infections.
During the programme, experts delivered guidance on essential precautionary measures during crop management operations. They emphasized the safe handling and application of pesticides, along with the importance of using personal protective equipment (PPE) to safeguard the health of farm workers.

As part of the programme, safety kits were distributed to participating farm workers to encourage the safe handling of agrochemicals and adoption of better plant health management practices.
