Dr. Sanjeev Panwar, Principal Scientist of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, visited the Mahayogi Gorakhnath Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gorakhpur-II, to review its ongoing activities, field units, and training programmes.
The visit was conducted under the chairmanship of Dr. R. K. Singh, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK Gorakhpur-II.
Dr. Panwar was received by the senior officials who briefed him on the various projects and initiatives being implemented at the KVK, including activities under the Swachh Bharat initiative. He was subsequently taken on a comprehensive tour of the KVK farm and its functional units.

During the visit, Dr. Panwar inspected key facilities such as the Value Addition Unit and the Soil Testing Laboratory, offering constructive suggestions for their further strengthening and effective utilization. He also visited the Jaggery Processing Unit, Seed Processing Plant, Pigeonpea (Arhar) Seed Production Plot, Wheat Seed Production Plot, Integrated Farming System Unit, and Vermicompost Unit, where he appreciated the systematic approach and field-oriented interventions being carried out by the KVK.
Dr. Panwar also interacted with participants of a five-day residential training programme on Natural Farming organized by the Department of Agriculture for “Krishi Sakhis.” He encouraged the trainees to actively promote and disseminate sustainable agricultural practices at the grassroots level, emphasizing their important role in advancing environmentally friendly farming systems.

The visit concluded with an appreciation of the KVK’s efforts in strengthening agricultural extension services and capacity building among farmers and rural stakeholders in the region.
