Stakeholders’ Meet on ‘Technology Intervention for Enhancing Agricultural Development in Vibrant Villages’ Organised

A Stakeholders’ Meet on ‘Technology Intervention for Enhancing Agricultural Development in Vibrant Villages’ was organised today at Zemithang Village in Tawang district, with focused participation from ICAR–National Research Centre on Mithun, Medziphema, Nagaland.

As part of the programme, ICAR–NRC on Mithun distributed 100 Sonalika dual-purpose chickens to farming households, aimed at strengthening household nutrition and enhancing livelihood opportunities in the region.
Addressing the participants, Dr. Narendra V. N., Scientist, ICAR–NRC on Mithun, highlighted the significant potential of Mithun rearing and integrated livestock-based farming systems as sustainable and climate-resilient livelihood options for border villages of Arunachal Pradesh.

The programme witnessed the participation of key stakeholders, including Shri Dinesh Kulkarni (Bharatiya Kisan Sangh), Dr. B. S. Dwivedi (Former ASRB Member), Captain Bashir Sheikh (Indian Army), Smt. Tsering Yangzom (Zila Parishad Member), Smt. Nawang Chonzom (Chairperson, Tawang Green FPC Ltd.), and Shri Deewan Mara (Circle Officer, Zemithang).

The initiative reflects ICAR–NRC on Mithun’s continued commitment to promoting livestock-led livelihood development and technology-driven agricultural growth in India’s vibrant border villages.
