ICAR RC–NEH, Umiam Celebrates the 150th Anniversary of Vande Mataram

ICAR Research Complex for North Eastern Hill Region, Umiam, Meghalaya, joined the nation in celebrating the 150th Anniversary of India’s National Song, Vande Mataram. The programme commenced under the chairmanship of Dr. Sandeep Ghatak, Director (In-Charge), ICAR-RC, NEH.

The celebration began with the collective singing of Vande Mataram led by the Director (In-Charge), followed by participation from officers and staff across all six regional centres and 20 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) under ICAR RC–NEH.

After the rendition of the National Song, participants listened to the live broadcast of the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s address to the nation, commemorating 150 years of Vande Mataram.

The observance concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sandeep Ghatak, who appreciated the enthusiastic participation of all officers and staff and highlighted the significance of Vande Mataram as a timeless symbol of India’s unity, pride, and patriotic spirit.

More than 1,200 staff members from across the Northeast region joined the event virtually marking this historic occasion.
