FOCARS 98 Successfully Completed at NAARM

30th September 2013, Hyderabad

The 98th batch of ICAR Foundation Course for Agricultural Research Service (FOCARS) concluded for 23 directly recruited Agricultural Research Scientists at the National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM), Hyderabad.

On this occasion, Dr. E.A. Siddiq, former Deputy Director General (Crop Sciences) and National Professor; Adjunct Professor, University of Hyderabad and Honorary Professor (Biotechnology), Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University, Hyderabad was the Chief Guest at the Valedictory Function held at NAARM on 30th September, 2013. Dr. Siddiq shared his experiences and interacted with research scientists.

Earlier, Dr. S.L. Goswami, Director, NAARM welcomed the dignitaries and briefed the gathering about the FOCARS98. He informed that Dr. S. Ayyappan, Secretary, DARE and Director General, ICAR also visited NAARM on 20th July, 2013. Dr. Ayyappan interacted with the FOCARS98 scientists and expressed his views that how to improve the life of farmers.

The FOCARS was spread over three months from 1st July, 2013 under three phases titled ‘Orientation and Capacity Building’, ‘Field Experience Training’, and ‘Multidisciplinary Perspectives’. The research scientists were exposed to training through lectures, on-the-job training and in-field exposure visits on various aspects of agricultural research and management, administration, finance and publications.
