CAFT training on advances in plant disease detection and management inaugurated

Three weeks long (28th February-20th March 2025) CAFT training programme on ‘Advances in Detection & Management of Emerging Plant Diseases of National Importance’ was inaugurated by Dr Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-Indian Agriculture Research Institute, New Delhi today in the Division of Plant Pathology, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi. 

   

Dr Rao, ICAR-IARI, highlighted the importance of managing emerging plant diseases with timely interventions for averting the threat of disease epidemics and food losses in the country. 

Dr Anupama Singh, Dean and Joint Director Education, emphasized the multidisciplinary approach to manage plant diseases. 

 

Sixteen scientists / Assistant Professors (12 male and 4 female) from nine different states will participate in the training programme. 

 

Dr M. S. Saharan, Head, Plant Pathology, Dr V. Shanmugam, Dr Anirban Roy and Dr Kajal K Biswas, coordinated the training programme.
