ICAR-CTCRI Inks MoU with Mahatma Gandhi University

ICAR-Central Tuber Crops Research Institute, Thiruvananthapuram, and Mahatma Gandhi (MG) University, Kottayam signed a Memorandum of Understanding here today.

As per the MoU, the possible areas of collaboration include various fields of biosciences including biotechnology, biochemistry, microbiology, climate change, nanotechnology, smart farming as well as processing & value addition.  

Prof. Sabu Thomas, Vice Chancellor, MG University, and Dr. G. Byju, Director, CTCRI signed the MoU on behalf of the respective organizations.

This bilateral relationship between a University and a national research institute will help transform the agricultural sector by solving many issues of the society at large, said Prof. Thomas.  

Dr Raju emphasized that the CTCRI will act as a center of research for Ph.D. students of the university and will bring national and international projects to solve pressing issues.
