ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun is conducting a training program on “Soil and Water Conservation and Watershed Management” for IFS Probationers (54 RR) during April 10-21, 2023.
The inaugural function of this training program was organised at IGNFA, Dehradun. The programme was presided by Dr M. Madhu, Director, ICAR-IISWC, Sh. R. K. Bajpai, Additional Professor, IGNFA and Dr D. V. Singh, Head, HRD&SS Division.
Sh. Bharat Jyoti, Director, IGNFA discussed the importance of delivery mechanism for effective training and emphasized on proper delivery as it ensures knowledge transfer and retention for long-term success.
The inaugural address was delivered by chief guest Dr J. S. Samra, Ex CEO, NRAA, New Delhi on “Concept of community-based watershed and spring-shed management and its major components in latest watershed guidelines”. Dr Samra enlightened the IFS probationers and participants with various transformations happening in watershed management with change in various scenarios over a period of time. He emphasizes the importance and adoption of latest technologies in watershed management. He also discussed on the clean energy to make the world carbon neutral and the importance of bio-energy.
The program concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr Sivabala S, Coourse Director 54RR, IGNFA.
