Awareness Programme on PPV&FRA organized by KVK, Baramulla

Training-cum-awareness programme on protection of plant varieties and farmers’ right Act (PPV&FRA), 2001 was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Baramulla at Chatoosa village in boarder area of Rafiabad in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on 15th  March 2016.

Shri Bashir Ahmed Bhat, SDM,  Sopore, Baramulla, Chief Guest of the event stressed on the need for making optimum use of the latest technologies and creating awareness among the farmers enabling them to produce quality products in different crops. He also stressed for a coordinated approach between the department and farmers to achieve tangible results.

Dr D.B Singh, Director, ICAR-CITH Srinagar requested farmers to register the plant varieties and species under PPV &FRA to get benefit while using these verities and species other stack holders.

About 300 Farmers, farm women and rural youths from different parts of the district attended the Programme.
