ICAR Institutes Celebrates 77th Republic Day 2026

The 77th Republic Day of India, celebrated on 26 January 2026, marked the adoption of the Constitution of India and reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to democratic values, unity, and sovereignty. On this occasion, ICAR Institutes and offices across the country celebrated Republic Day with patriotic fervour, reflecting on their constitutional responsibility towards nation-building and public service through agricultural research, education, and extension.

Addressing the gathering, the Director, ICAR-ATARI, Ludhiana, Dr. Parvender Sheoran, emphasized that Republic Day celebrations provide an important opportunity for the ICAR-ATARI fraternity to come together as one family and reflect on the constitutional values that guide the nation. He highlighted the significance of fostering patriotism, togetherness, and collective responsibility towards national progress. The presence of family members, he noted, added warmth to the occasion and reflected the institute’s inclusive and community-oriented ethos.

On the occasion, Dr. Sheoran also presented awards to the winners of various sports activities, encouraging a culture of physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy competition among the staff.

ICAR–Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai

ICAR–Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai, celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with patriotic fervour. Dr. N. P. Sahu, Director, ICAR-CIFE hoisted the National Flag and addressed the gathering comprising scientists, officers, staff, students, and trainees. In his remarks, he paid tribute to the freedom fighters and the architects of the Constitution and highlighted India’s progress towards the vision of Viksit Bharat, with notable achievements in agriculture and allied sectors.

Dr. Sahu emphasized the role of ICAR-CIFE in fisheries education, research, human resource development, and entrepreneurship, contributing to food and nutritional security and Atmanirbhar Bharat. The celebrations concluded with patriotic cultural programmes, and similar Republic Day events were organized at the Institute’s five regional centres.
