Zonal Programme Management Committee (ZPMC) meeting of Farmer FIRST Programme was held today at ICAR- Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Hyderabad to review the progress of the activities of the programme during 2025-26.
Dr Shaik N. Meera, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Hyderabad and Chairman of ZPMC, in his remarks emphasized the importance of the programme and expectations from the centers.

Principal Investigators from implementing organizations, ICAR-IIOPR, ICAR-IIOR, TANUVAS, ICAR-CRIDA and ICAR-IIMR presented the progress of the work during 2025-26.
First presentation was by the PI of ICAR-IIOPR centre which was about ENHANCING profitability of oil palm-based cropping systems followed by the presentation by the PI of ICAR-IIOR which was about oilseeds production technologies for improving profitability and socio-economic conditions of small holders in rainfed oilseeds production system of Telangana.
PI of ICAR-CRIDA Centre presented about the activities taken up on the Natural Resource Development for Socio-economic Empowerment in Rainfed Areas of Southern Telangana Region followed by the presentation on improving the livelihood security of farmers through technological interventions in Tiruvallur District of Tamil Nadu by the PI of TANUVAS centre. The last presentation was by the PI of ICAR-IIMR Centre on Participatory technology validation, diversification, value addition for small holder’s livelihood improvement of Central Telangana Zone.

Dr V. Rasheed Sulaiman, Director, CRISP, Hyderabad (Invited Expert) Member, and Shri. G Nagarathnam Naidu, Member representative of farmers, participated in the review meeting. Scientists of ICAR-ATARI, Hyderabad and PIs and Co PIs of the project from implementing organizations also took part in the review meeting.
