An interactive session with Women Achiever Scientists from ICAR and CSIR was organized for the 114th Foundation Course for Agricultural Research Service (FOCARS) probationers at the ICAR–National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad, today. The event aimed to inspire young agricultural scientists to pursue excellence in research while maintaining a balance between professional and personal life.

Dr. P. D. Kamala Jayanthi, National Professor, ICAR–Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Bengaluru, and Dr. Shailaja Donempudi, Distinguished Scientist and Head, BDG, CSIR, New Delhi, were the guest speakers who shared their experiences and insights.
During her interaction, Dr. Kamala Jayanthi emphasized the importance of cultivating passion-driven research, identifying career opportunities, and achieving a healthy work–life balance. Drawing from her journey as a Ph.D. scholar, ARS scientist, National Fellow, and National Professor, she encouraged the probationers to remain committed to scientific excellence and perseverance.

Dr. Donempudi highlighted the significance of lifelong learning, innovation, and adaptability in research. She shared her personal experiences of transitioning from a researcher to a research manager, motivating the young scientists to develop leadership and problem-solving skills in the evolving scientific landscape.
The session served as a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and mentorship, encouraging the next generation of agricultural scientists to pursue impactful and inclusive research careers.
