ICAR-Indian Institute of Rapeseed-Mustard Research, Bharatpur & Science and Technology Application Remodel (STAR) Society, Jaipur jointly organized a one-day workshop on Agri-Business Awareness: Quality Control and Standards in Edible oils for various stakeholders viz., Startups, budding entrepreneurs, FPOs, SHGs, farmers and unemployed youth of Rajasthan today.
Dr. V. V. Singh, Director, ICAR-IIRMR, briefed the importance of Edible oils in the food chain, he stated that edible oil is serving as a major source of energy, essential fatty acids, and is crucial for human nutrition and also play a significant role in various industries, including food processing, pharmaceuticals, etc.

Edible oils also have an impact on the economy, both in terms of production and trade. Therefore, quality control in edible oil is crucial for ensuring consumer safety, maintaining product consistency, and meeting regulatory standards.
More than 50 stakeholders including officials /Scientists/ CEO / Chairpersons / Secretary / Progressive farmers/ Incubatee from more than 10 organizations including Farmers’ Producer Organization, line departments, etc. have benefitted under the workshop.
