A Mushroom spawn production unit established at ICAR-KVK-Alappuzha under ICAR-CPCRI, Kasaragod with funding support from State Horticulture Mission (Kerala) was inaugurated by Shri. P. Prasad, Minister for Agriculture, Govt. of Kerala today.
In his address, Shri Prasad announced the initiation of online marketing of value-added agricultural products from farmers, entrepreneurs, SHGs, and FPOs of Kerala in the brand ‘Keral Agro’ coordinated by the state government.
On the occasion, the Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers (DAESI) program (2022-23) was also inaugurated by the Minister.
Dr. V. Venkitasubramanian, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Bengaluru presided over the meeting in which Scientists from CPCRI, State Dept officials, People’s representatives, Mushroom entrepreneurs, registered input dealers and staff members participated.
A small exhibition highlighting different aspects of mushroom production and value addition also was arranged in which the Minister interacted with the entrepreneurs.
