ICAR–Indian Institute of Rapeseed-Mustard Research, Bharatpur signed a Memorandum of Agreement with KuronGi Agritech India Private Limited, Guwahati, Assam, for the non-exclusive licensing of the high-yielding Indian mustard variety BPM-11.
BPM-11 is known for its high yield potential and superior oil content and is recommended for cultivation across a wide range of states, including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Assam and the North Eastern Hill States.

The MoA was formally signed by Dr. Vijay Veer Singh, Director, ICAR-IIRMR, and Mr. Jibon Keot, Director, Kurongi Agritech India Pvt. Ltd., on behalf of their respective organizations.
In his remarks, Dr. Vijay Veer Singh highlighted that the licensing of BPM-11 for commercialization will help expand mustard cultivation especially in rice fallow areas of the northeastern states contributing to India’s broader goal of achieving self-sufficiency in edible oilseed production.
Mr. Jibon Keot reaffirmed the company’s commitment to collaborative efforts, assuring active participation in scaling up quality seed production and distribution to support the national mission of edible oil self-reliance.
Officials from ICAR-IIRMR and Kurongi Agritech India Pvt. Ltd. were also present during the signing ceremony.
