As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign, an activity on “Zero-Waste and Sustainable Practices” was organised today at the Biochar Processing Unit of ICAR-Central Tuber Crops Research Institute, Thiruvananthapuram.
The activity was organised with a focus on minimising waste generation, promoting the effective utilisation of waste materials and encouraging sustainable waste-management practices. The initiative was organised in accordance with the campaign’s action plan, which emphasises promoting zero-waste events and sustainable practices.
The programme witnessed active participation from staff members, students, research scholars and sanitation workers of ICAR-CTCRI. Volunteers from Suchitwa Mission, Kerala, also participated in the activity, further strengthening community engagement and raising awareness about responsible waste management and sustainable practices.
The initiative highlighted the importance of collective participation in fostering a cleaner, greener and more sustainable environment.
