Gadmal is an endemic underutilized pulse crop that is being grown by the tribes of village Damjipura, Bhimpur block of Betul district fits as a sandwich crop for the kharif cafeteria. As the pulse crop is highly delicious and is being used by the tribes in their several local religious events. The area under this crop is reducing day by day due to many biotic and abiotic stresses.

To conserve the crop and increase its area, production, and productivity Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Betul organized an awareness camp as “Gadmal Diwas” today.

Dr. V.K. Verma, Principal Scientist, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Betul briefed about the aim of the awareness camp.
Around 61 tribe famers participated in the program.
