ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, North Goa, ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa, jointly organized an Animal Health Camp at Torxem village, Pernem taluka, North Goa today as a support initiative for dairy and poultry farmers.

During the camp, experts created awareness about common livestock diseases and their preventive measures, while also sensitizing farmers on udder health and practices for clean milk production in dairy animals.
A total of 34 buffaloes, 12 cattle, and 60 poultry birds were examined. Farmers were provided with veterinary medicines, including mineral mixtures, liver tonics, and probiotic bolus to support animal health and productivity.
Additionally, faecal samples for E. coli detection and blood samples for breed registration were collected under the Animal Genetics Resources network project, funded by ICAR-National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources, Karnal.

The camp benefited 12 farmers and three farm women, enhancing their knowledge of scientific livestock management and disease prevention.
This initiative provided valuable veterinary services and technical guidance, contributing significantly to the welfare of dairy and backyard poultry farmers in the region.
