During his address, Shri Choudhary reaffirmed the government's commitment to promoting millets as a climate-resilient and nutritionally rich crop. He stressed the significance of processing infrastructure in strengthening the millet value chain and ensuring better returns for farmers at the block level.

Dr C. Tara Satyavathi, Director, ICAR-IIMR, Hyderabad, emphasized the institute’s dedication to supporting millet farmers through research, training programs, and market linkages. She highlighted that the newly established unit will act as a center for skill development and technology transfer in millet processing. She further mentioned that up to 30 millet-based products can be processed at this facility, enhancing value-addition opportunities.

The model unit aims to empower millet farmers by providing hands-on training in processing technologies, value addition, and entrepreneurial development.
