ICAR-National Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology and Disease Informatics, Bengaluru celebrated its 17th Foundation Day here today.
Dr. Parimal Roy, Director, ICAR-NIVEDI briefed about the achievements made by the Institute in Veterinary Epidemiology with a special reference to eradication programmes of dreadful diseases. He also emphasized that the institute need to work hard in livestock disease control programmes launched by Govt of India. Dr Roy applauded the achievements made by disease informatics section wherein it is sending monthly livestock diseases forecasting bulletin which forecasts the occurrence of animal disease two months’ advance.
On this occasion, health camp was organized wherein the eye check-up of all staff was conducted and were guided accordingly. Rangoli drawing and Musical chair competitions were arranged for non-scientific staff.
A lecture on “Doubling of Farmers’ income” was delivered in the afternoon by Dr M. Shivamurthy, Prof. and Head, Department of Agriculture Extension, UAS, Bengaluru.
Joint Director, IVRI, SRS, Bengaluru and former Administrative Officers attended the event.
