ICAR- Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Bareilly in collaboration with ICAR-Zonal Project Directorate (ZPD), Zone-I, Ludhiana and Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana organized an Interface Meet with the Veterinary Officers of Animal Husbandry Department, Dairy Development Officers of the Punjab State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation Ltd. and Subject Matter Specialists (Veterinary/Animal Sciences) of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) of Punjab on 25th March, 2015 at GADVASU, Ludhiana.
Dr H. S. Sandhu, Dean, College of Veterinary Sciences; GADVASU was the chief guest and Dr Rajbir Singh, Zonal Project Director, ICAR-ZPD, Zone-I was the guest of honour during the interface meeting. Dr. Sandhu, in his address, elaborated the importance of such Interface Meet and highlighted the technologies developed by GADVASU. Dr. Singh requested the authorities of GADVASU to develop one of its 3 KVKs as Advanced Learning Centre of Livestock and Fisheries Extension so that other KVKs of Punjab and neighbouring states could be provided technological backstopping.
The interface was organized with twin objectives of sharing the latest technologies and packages of practices developed by ICAR-IVRI, Bareilly with the field level professionals and getting feedback about the technologies already practiced and needs/problems of livestock owners of Punjab. A total of 141 participants took part in the meeting.
