ICAR- National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal organized 13th Convocation on 14th February 2015 and Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, Hon’ble Governor, Haryana was Chief Guest. In his address, he said that this University has made the nation richer through the human resource development and training the young minds. He appreciated that such a large number of girl students are passing out from the subject of Animal Science from ICAR-NDRI. He congratulated all the graduating students, awardees and medalist.
On this occasion, Hon’ble Governor conferred Doctor of Science Honoris Causa to Dr. Mangala Rai, Former DG, ICAR. During convocation, 43 B.Tech, 110 Masters and 61 Ph.D. scholars were awarded the degrees.
Dr. Mangala Rai, Former Secretary, DARE and DG, ICAR delivered the ‘Convocation Address' and said that ICAR-NDRI has made contributions to overall dairy research, education and development in the country. ICAR-NDRI has achieved landmark success in the area of animal cloning through ‘hand guided cloning’ technique. During this calendar year, the Institute has been successful in transferring a record number of 12 technologies to 20 dairy and food sector industries.
Dr. A.K. Srivastava,Director & Vice Chancellor, ICAR-NDRI presented the progress report on the significant achievements made by the institute during the past few year.
During this occasion, Dr. Mangala Rai, Dr. Arvind Kumar, Deputy Director General (Education), ICAR, Dr. Gurbachan Singh, Chairman, Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board and Dr. K.M.L. Pathak Deputy Director General (Animal Science), ICAR also did the honors.
