Dr. Gurbachan Singh, Chairman, Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) inaugurated the online examination facility at the National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM), Hyderabad on 20 Mar 2014.
While addressing the ARS probationers of the Foundation Course for Agricultural Research Service, 99th batch (FOCARS-99), Dr. Gurbachan Singh said there is a need to stop the brain drain from rural areas to urban. He said ‘When you formulate a research proposal, always think of a farmer and the proposal should be problem solving, with a farmers’ participatory and multidisciplinary approach.’ He also mentioned the climate change and challenges that farmers face due to unseasonal rain accompanied with hailstorms.
Dr. S.L. Goswami, Director, NAARM informed that the facility has 120 computers linked to dedicated online servers. ASRB will be holding the National Eligibility Test, NET-2014 in online mode from 26th March to 4th April 2014 in 55 disciplines at 23 centres across the country. NAARM has become one of these. 1,386 candidates have been registered for the test in examination centre at NAARM.
