The Central Rice Research Institute, Cuttack celebrated its 2nd Agriculture Education Day on 18th November 2013.
The Chief Guest of the function, Dr. P. Jayasankar, Director, CIFA, Bhubaneswar inaugurated the function and the exhibition, showcasing the projects developed by the students on ‘Application of agriculture science’. He advised the students to be close to the Nature, carefully observe natural environment and have rural agricultural experience. On this occasion, the Chief Guest also released two educational bulletins entitled ‘Agriculture and Allied Sciences: Options and Opportunities as a Career’ and ‘Innovations in Agricultural Science’.
Dr. T. Mohapatra, Director, CRRI chaired the inaugural programme. While addressing the students, he emphasized upon the importance and relevance of different disciplines of agricultural science. Dr. Mohapatra also encouraged students to keep in mind Agriculture and allied subjects while choosing a career in future.
The Science Exhibition showcased innovative ideas of the students of all the schools in the form of models, charts, graphs and live material. Debate and quiz competition followed the inaugural session. Students from 18 schools along with their teachers/guides participated in the event.
Dr. B.N. Sadangi, Head, Social Science Division welcomed the dignitaries and students while, Dr. (Mrs.) Lipi Das, Organizing Secretary proposed vote of thanks.
