Dr. S. Ayyappan, Secretary, DARE and Director General, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi inaugurated the Fish Museum at the Salt Lake, Kolkata Campus of Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai on July 27, 2013.

The CIFE Kolkata Centre conducts research and various training programmes for stakeholders where knowledge of proper fish identification is imperative. On this occasion, Dr. W. S. Lakra, Director & Vice-Chancellor, CIFE, Mumbai; Dr. S. D. Singh, ADG (Fisheries), ICAR, New Delhi; Dr. S. K. Sharma, Director, CIFRI; Dr. B. K. Mahapatra, Scientist in Charge, CIFE Kolkata Centre; and staff and students were present.
