Annual Zonal Workshop of Zone-VI organized at Agricultural Research Station, Durgapura, Jaipur during 02-04 May, 2013.
Dr. A.M. Narula, ZPD, Zone-I, Ludhiana was the Chief Guest. In his inaugural address, Dr. Narula appreciated efforts of KVKs of Rajasthan and Gujarat state in arid and semi-arid areas. Dr. Narula stressed upon development of strategies of market led extension, value addition and entrepreneurship development to motivate the rural youth toward agriculture.
Sh. Lalit Bapna, Chairman, Pragati Truat, Jaipur, in his presidential address, expressed satisfaction over lead role being played by the KVKs and the linkage between the KVKs and the line departments for meeting the technical needs of the farmers.
Earlier, Dr. Y.V. Singh, Zonal Project Director, Zone-VI, Jodhpur briefed about the growth and salient achievements of KVKs of Zone VI and highlighted the new initiatives proposed for the strengthening of KVK system of Zone-VI in highly affected arid and semi-arid climatic zone during the XIIth Five Year Plan.
Dr. J.S. Chauhan, Director, Directorate of Rapeseed-Mustard Research, Bharatpur and Dr. P.N. Kalla, Director, Extension (Education), Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University (SKRAU), Bikaner also graced the occasion.
Publications of Zonal Project Directorate, Zone-VI, Navasari and Anand Agricultural University were released on this occasion.
Directors of Extension from SAUs, Scientists from ZPD, Zone-VI, Professors from Directorate of Extension, Officials from Department of Agriculture and Programme Coordinators of 70 KVKs of Zone-VI participated in the workshop and presented the annual progress report for the year 2012-13.
