ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute today organized the 34th National Extension Program (NEP) Kharif Review Workshop in a virtual format, focusing on the Transfer of Technology (ToT) initiatives for the upcoming cropping season.
Chaired by Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-IARI, the workshop brought together key stakeholders from ICAR Institutes, State Agricultural Universities (SAUs), the Central Agricultural University (CAU), Jhansi, and 16 Voluntary Organizations (VOs).
This flagship initiative aims to enhance the last-mile delivery of agricultural innovations by fostering collaboration between research institutions and grassroots organizations.

Dr. Rao emphasized the importance of such collaborative frameworks in accelerating technology dissemination and ensuring sustainable agricultural growth. “Our partnerships are vital for delivering the right technology to the right farmer at the right time,” he said, urging all stakeholders to sustain momentum and prioritize locally adaptive approaches backed by robust feedback systems.
Dr. R.N. Padaria, Joint Director (Extension), ICAR-IARI, outlined the strategic roadmap of the programme. He also led a dedicated interaction session that enabled the exchange of knowledge and field experiences, which he later synthesized to define key action points for future initiatives.
The event featured 28 presentations from ICAR Institutes, SAUs, and VOs, reviewing past achievements and outlining plans for the Kharif season.
The workshop concluded with a collective commitment to drive efficiency, inclusivity, and innovation in technology transfer, reaffirming the institute’s leadership in agricultural extension and development.
