Dr. R.C. Gautam Memorial Award Ceremony and Cleanliness-cum-Plantation Drive Organised

The Division of Agronomy, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, organized the Dr. R.C. Gautam Memorial Award Ceremony and a Cleanliness-cum-Plantation Drive today to mark the 82nd birth anniversary of Late Dr. R.C. Gautam, former Dean, Joint Director (Education), and Head of the Division of Agronomy.

The event celebrated Dr. Gautam’s pioneering contributions to agronomy and agricultural education.

Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-IARI, attended as Chief Guest, along with Dr. Anupama Singh, Dean, Graduate School, and Dr. P.S. Bramhanand, Project Director, Water Technology Centre.

In his address, Dr. Rao described Dr. Gautam as a visionary academic and research leader whose legacy continues to inspire the institute’s academic ethos. Dr. Singh and Dr. Bramhanand highlighted the significance of commemorative events in promoting environmental stewardship and institutional values.

As a tribute to his legacy, the Dr. R.C. Gautam Memorial Award for Young Agronomists was conferred upon Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Senior Scientist at ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna, in recognition of his exceptional work in the field of agronomy.
