CitriHub, the Agri-Business Incubation Centre of ICAR-Central Citrus Research Institute, Nagpur, recently organized a focused incubation programme on “Citrus Nursery Management and Nurserypreneurship” for four aspiring citrus nurserypreneurs from Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.
The programme offered intensive, hands-on training covering critical components of professional citrus nursery operations. Key areas included establishment and maintenance of mother blocks, conventional and micro-budding techniques, containerized nursery production, nursery accreditation procedures, market-oriented strategies, and preparation of viable business plans. The comprehensive curriculum was designed to strengthen both technical competence and entrepreneurial readiness among the incubatees.
During the programme, Dr. Dilip Ghosh, Director, ICAR-CCRI, interacted with the participants to review the present status of citrus nursery enterprises in their regions, identify emerging opportunities, and deliberate on region-specific challenges. He assured the incubatees of continued, need-based technical guidance, business mentoring, and support in branding and enterprise development to ensure sustainable growth of their citrus nursery ventures.
The incubatees expressed sincere appreciation to CitriHub for providing a holistic citripreneurial ecosystem. They acknowledged that the incubation programme significantly enhanced their technical skills, deepened their understanding of nurserypreneurship, and instilled greater confidence in managing and expanding their enterprises.
The initiative highlights CitriHub’s continued commitment to promoting citripreneurship and strengthening the citrus sector through structured incubation, innovation, and enterprise-led growth across the country.
