The ICAR-National Research Centre on Meat, Hyderabad and ICAR-Research Complex for North-Eastern Hills Region, Umiam, Meghalaya jointly organized the two-day Training Programme on “Hygienic Meat Production, Processing and Value-Addition” from 15th to 16th March, 2022. The programme was organized under the NEH Component at the ICAR-Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya.
Dr. V.K. Mishra, Director, ICAR-Research Complex for NEH Region underlined the scope for the commercialization of the North-East Traditional Meat Products. The importance of quality meat, hygienic meat production, value-addition and further processing to ensure the better returns, importance of Zoonotic Diseases, need for establishing the modern hygienic slaughter houses, the role of Entrepreneurs in Start-Ups and traditional meat products, etc., were highlighted by Dr. Mishra.
The programme registered participation by 31 Entrepreneurs.
