ICAR-NRC on Mithun and KVK Karbi Anglong Distribute 120 Assam Hill Goats to SC Farmers

ICAR–National Research Centre on Mithun, Medziphema, Nagaland, in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Karbi Anglong, Assam, successfully organized a programme on “Livelihood Enhancement through Goat Distribution under SCSP” today at KVK Karbi Anglong.

Under the initiative, 120 Assam Hill goats were distributed to 60 Scheduled Caste (SC) farmers of Karbi Anglong district, aiming to enhance livelihood opportunities and promote income generation through scientific goat farming.

During the event, beneficiary farmers were provided hands-on orientation on scientific goat-rearing practices, including feeding management, housing, disease prevention, and breed improvement strategies to enhance productivity.

The distribution of quality Assam Hill goat breed stock is expected to contribute to sustainable income generation and improve the socio-economic well-being of SC farming families in the district.
