This landmark collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of regenerative and climate-smart agricultural practices that contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving soil health, and enhancing farmer livelihoods through carbon credit generation. The partnership emphasizes field demonstrations, capacity-building, and strengthening extension services across Punjab and potentially other northern states.

Speaking on the occasion, it was highlighted that the programme is completely voluntary and free for farmers, ensuring that no financial burden is placed on them as they transition toward sustainable farming systems. The initiative is also expected to contribute to India’s broader goals of agricultural sustainability and climate resilience.
