ICAR–Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad, joined the nation in commemorating 150 years of Vande Mataram the iconic national song that stirred India’s freedom movement and continues to inspire generations with its enduring message of unity, courage, and devotion to the motherland.
The event featured the live telecast of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi address, wherein he underscored that Vande Mataram continues to guide the nation’s vision toward a confident, self-reliant, and resurgent Viksit Bharat 2047.
As part of the nationwide celebration, ICAR–CRIDA organized a mass singing of Vande Mataram, paying tribute to its author, Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, whose immortal creation remains a symbol of India’s patriotic spirit.

During the programme, Dr. V. K. Singh, Director, ICAR–CRIDA, highlighted the historical significance of Vande Mataram and its profound role in uniting the nation during the freedom struggle. He emphasized that the commemoration not only honours Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s literary genius but also reaffirms India’s collective commitment to the ideals of integrity, unity, and national pride.
All staff members of ICAR–CRIDA and students from IARI–Mega University, Hyderabad Hub, enthusiastically participated in the mass singing and joined the live inaugural programme.
The celebration reflected a profound sense of patriotism and unity, honouring a song that embodies the very essence of India’s national identity, pride, and reverence.
