ICAR-CCARI, Goa Commemorates 150 Years of ‘Vande Mataram’

ICAR–Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa, launched the Commemoration of 150 Years of ‘Vande Mataram’ today with a mass singing of the National Song by the officials and staff of the Institute and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, North Goa.

This year-long national programme, to be observed from 7 November 2025 to 7 November 2026 in four phases, aims to honour the legacy of Bankim Chandra Chatterjee and highlight the timeless values of unity, sacrifice, and patriotism embodied in Vande Mataram.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, elaborated on the historical significance of Vande Mataram and its role as an inspiring anthem during India’s freedom struggle. He emphasized the importance of remembering and upholding the spirit of nationalism that the song represents.

All staff members of ICAR-CCARI and KVK, North Goa, actively participated in the mass singing. The launch marked the beginning of a series of events that will be held throughout the year to celebrate 150 years of Vande Mataram and its enduring message of national unity.
