Goa Chief Minister and Water Resources Minister Felicitate ICAR-CCARI Scientists for National Award in Agricultural Sciences

Dr. Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister, Goa, and Shri Subhash Shirodkar, Minister for Water Resources Development, Govt of Goa, felicitated the scientists of ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa, in recognition of their receipt of the prestigious Rashtriya Krishi Vigyan Puraskar 2025.

The felicitation ceremony was held at the Goa Legislative Assembly Complex, Porvorim, in the esteemed presence of Shri Rajesh Faldessai, Member of Legislative Assembly, Cumbarjua; Shri Arun Kumar Mishra, IAS, Secretary (Agriculture), Government of Goa; and other dignitaries.

Goa Chief Minister and Water Resources Minister Felicitate ICAR-CCARI Scientists for National Award in Agricultural Sciences

ICAR-CCARI received the national award under the category of Outstanding Interdisciplinary Team Research in Agriculture, Agricultural Education, Extension, and Allied Sciences. The recognition was conferred by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, and Department of Agricultural Research and Education, during the 97th ICAR Foundation Day celebrations held on July 16, 2025, in New Delhi. The award was presented by the Union Minister of Agriculture, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The award-winning initiative, titled Building Coastal Climate Resilience through Integrated Farming Systems and Agro-Ecotourism, was spearheaded by Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, along with other senior officials.

This pioneering project integrates science-based farming practices with agro-ecotourism to promote climate resilience, improve farm profitability, and empower local communities in ecologically sensitive coastal regions.

The honour underscores ICAR-CCARI’s continued commitment to sustainable agricultural innovation and strengthens Goa’s position as a national leader in climate-smart coastal agriculture.
