ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vidhyashree Traders, Jabalpur, today for the licensing and commercialization of its innovative implement ‘Adjustable Spray Boom Holding Attachment for Multinozzle Knapsack Sprayer.’
The MoU was signed by Dr. P.K. Singh, Principal Scientist & In-charge Director, ICAR-DWR, and Smt. Rasmi Jain, Proprietor, Vidhyashree Traders. This agreement marks a significant step toward promoting farm mechanization and efficient weed management.

Designed with farmers in mind, the adjustable boom attachment enhances knapsack sprayers by enabling uniform spray coverage, adjustable height, and efficient use of herbicides, while minimizing operator fatigue and chemical wastage.
This partnership will enable large-scale manufacturing and distribution of the technology, facilitating wider adoption at the grassroots level. Dr. Singh emphasized the importance of such collaborations in translating research innovations into real-world solutions for farmers.
The signing ceremony was attended by ICAR-DWR scientists, PME and ITMU members, and representatives from the industry partner. This MoU exemplifies a successful public-private partnership in agricultural innovation, with the potential to significantly benefit the farming community.
