ICAR–National Meat Research Institute, Hyderabad, hosted Dr. R. C. Agrawal, Former Deputy Director General (Agri Education) ICAR and Dr. Gopal Lal, Acting Director, ICAR–NAARM, Hyderabad, today.

The visit began with a comprehensive tour of the institute’s state-of-the-art facilities, including NABL–FSSAI accredited laboratories, advanced pilot plants, and modern processing units. The distinguished guests were briefed on the institute’s ongoing research initiatives, technological innovations, and contributions in the field of meat science and allied sectors.
Dr. Agrawal lauded ICAR–NMRI for its significant role in enhancing food security, fostering entrepreneurship, and promoting sustainable utilization of animal by-products. He also shared valuable insights and strategic suggestions to steer the institute’s growth and align its research trajectory with future national needs.
Dr. Gopal Lal appreciated the institute’s robust research ecosystem and the impactful work being carried out in the domain of meat technology and value addition.

A formal interaction session was held with the faculty and scientific staff, facilitating enriching discussions on research collaborations, innovation-driven growth, and capacity-building opportunities. During the session, the institute presented a detailed overview of its major programs, key achievements, and outreach initiatives aligned with national priorities.
The visit concluded on a positive note, reinforcing ICAR–NMRI’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and nation-building through science-led development in the livestock and meat sector.
