Dhalai Emerges as a Model District in Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan

In a significant stride towards agricultural transformation, Dhalai district of Tripura has emerged as a leading performer under the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA), a nationwide initiative aimed at empowering farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture. Since the launch of the campaign on 29 April 2025, the district has conducted awareness and outreach activities in more than 80 villages, demonstrating remarkable grassroots engagement and implementation.

Led by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dhalai, the campaign delivered expert guidance, live demonstrations, and information on key government schemes to farming communities across the district. The focus has been on climate-resilient agriculture, use of organic fertilizers, crop diversification, and awareness of subsidies and crop insurance. The initiative is tailored to local agro-climatic conditions and aims to equip farmers with the tools and knowledge necessary for sustainable and productive farming.

The campaign has garnered strong backing from public representatives and local leaders. Among the notable participants was Shri Ratan Lal Nath, Minister of Agriculture, Government of Tripura, along with several Members of the Legislative Assembly from surrounding constituencies. Their presence, along with active involvement from Panchayat Samiti Chairpersons, Vice Chairpersons, Pradhans, and Upa-Pradhans, has significantly strengthened the campaign’s reach and impact.
