Annual Review Workshop 2024-25-cum-Annual Action Plan Meeting 2025-26 for KVKs of Tamil Nadu & Puducherry

24 & 25 April 2025, Madurai

The Annual Review Workshop 2024–25 and Annual Action Plan Meeting 2025–26 for Krishi Vigyan Kendras, of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry under ICAR- Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone X, was successfully organised on 24 and 25 April 2025 at KVK Madurai. The event was organized under the aegis of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore, and the ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Zone X, Hyderabad.

The two-day meeting was chaired by Dr. Shaik N. Meera, Director, ICAR-ATARI Zone X; Dr. P. P. Murugan, Director, Extension Education, TNAU; and Dr. R. Thamizh Vendhan, Acting Vice-Chancellor, TNAU.

Dr. P. Das, Former Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension), ICAR, and Dr. Lakkan Singh, Former Director, ICAR-ATARI, Pune, delivered the keynote address during the inaugural session. They urged the need for a technology-driven, forward-looking approach in Indian agriculture.

Shri Samuel Praveen Kumar, Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India, who highlighted key policy frameworks, the role of digital technology, and the significance of integrated extension models.

Senior faculty from Agricultural and Horticultural Colleges (AC&RI and CSC&RI) in Madurai, along with Directors of Extension Education from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, shared their perspectives on regional challenges and innovations in agriculture and allied sectors. 
The workshop featured a series of thematic technical sessions, chaired by Directors of Extension Education from various State Agricultural Universities, enabled active engagement and discussion.

The second day of the event began with a special session titled "Innovating for Impact: Futuristic & New-Edge KVK Interventions. Dr. Meera, underscored the importance of aligning research, extension, and policy with farmers' real-world needs.
