ICAR Institutes celebrate 75th Independence Day @Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav

The 15th August is celebrated across the nation with full enthusiasm and fervor to mark the Independence Day. The day marks the display of the vivid activities like Singing & Dancing Competitions, Essay & Slogan Writing Competitions and Painting Competitions, etc. This Year observing the 75th Year of India’s Independence, a wide array of the various cultural activities were organized under the Theme - “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav”.

The ICAR Institutes pan India also celebrated the Day with full fervor.

ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology, Kolkata

The Chief Guest, Dr. K.K. Satapathy, Former Director, ICAR-NINFET outlined India’s successful journey from food deficit to food surplus country due to the immense contribution of Agricultural Scientists through Green, Blue, White and Yellow Revolutions.

Dr. D.B. Shakyawar, Director, ICAR-NINFET, Kolkata delivered a Lecture on “Progress, Development of Technologies and Contribution to the Textile Sector by ICAR-NINFET”.

The Children, Staff Members and Pensioners participated with full enthusiasm and fervor in the event.

In his address, Dr. E.B. Chakurkar, Director, ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair outlined Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Veer Savarkar’s sacrifices to attain the freedom of the country. He stressed on the need for diversifying and adding value in the technologies / products, organic farming, package for INM & IPM and agro-ecotourism for its up-scaling.

ICAR-National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh

In his address, Dr. Kuldeep K. Lal, Director, ICAR-NBFGR, Lucknow emphasized on the importance of skill upgradation, especially in the digital arena.

In his address, Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa applauded the Institute’s Staff Members for developing the technologies that benefited more than 50,000 farmers in the last 45 Years of the Institute’s establishment. He also outlined the future roadmap of the Institute’s research for developing the climate resilient technologies to enhance the income of the farmers in the coastal region.
