Union Agriculture Minister’s Visit to ICAR–CRRI, Cuttack Marks a Major Step Towards Empowering Odisha’s Farmers

A high-level meeting titled ‘Convergence Strategies for Implementation of PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana, Mission for Atmanirbharta in Pulses, and National Mission on Natural Farming’ is scheduled to be held at the ICAR–Central Rice Research Institute, Cuttack today.

The meeting will be graced by the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, along with Shri Kanak Vardhan Sing Deo, Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Odisha, and Dr. M. L. Jat, Secretary (DARE) and Director General (ICAR).

Senior officials including Deputy Director Generals, Assistant Director Generals, Directors of ICAR Institutes in Odisha, and leading agricultural scientists will also participate in the deliberations.

During his visit, the Minister will interact with farmers en route to ICAR–CRRI and visit selected farmer fields, underscoring the government’s commitment to strengthening farmer connect and promoting on-ground agricultural transformation.

The meeting aims to foster convergence among key stakeholders including beneficiary farmers, state government officials, researchers, and implementing agencies to devise effective strategies for the successful implementation of the three major national initiatives. This collaborative effort is expected to accelerate progress towards self-reliant and sustainable agriculture in Odisha and beyond.
