ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad organized three-day training programme on “Management of Horticulture & Nurseries” under SCSP in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Ramagirikhilla, Peddapalli (Dist) affiliated by Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University (SKLTSHU) at JNTUH College, Ramagikhgilla from 3rd -5th September, 2022.

Dr. A. Kiran Kumar, Director of Extension, SKLTSHU participated in the inaugural function as a chief guest and highlighted the present status of production and productivity of horticulture fruit crops in our country. Also emphasized anent the good practices for management of horticultural nurseries for higher production of fruit crops.

Shri. Gone Shyamsunder Rao, RAC & IMC Member, ICAR-NAARM graced the inaugural function as Guest of Honour, stressed upon the need to develop skills for becoming an entrepreneur. Also briefed about how to develop a market linkage, appropriate packaging and storage methods for value added fruit products.
Dr. M. Balakrishnan, Principal Scientist, ICAR-NAARM in his address highlighted the role of horticultural product and its role in building national productivity in the horticultural sector.
Delivering the valedictory address, Dr Sridhar Reddy, Vice-Principal, JNTUH, Ramagirikhilla was urged all the participants to become a job provider by establishing different horticulture based entrepreneurs. Whereas, after completion of training programme various inputs which was required for better management of horticultural crops and nurseries were distributed to the participants.
Total 205 farmers were trained including 102 women farmers on the aspects related to “Management of Horticulture & Nurseries”.
