KVK, Ri Bhoi organized Capacity Building cum Pre- Kharif Kisan Sammelan for Doubling Farmers’ Income on 29 March 2017 at ICAR, Umiam.
Ernakulam Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) of ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Kochi is conducting month-long training course,” Aquaculture Technician” to impart skill development training on various stages of the farming practices to the selected 20 interested youngsters in aquaculture.

A Mega Awareness Programme cum Kisan Sammelan on Pradhan Mantri Fasal Yojna (PMFBY) was organized by ICAR-CITH Krishi Vigyan Kendra Baramulla on 4 March 2017 at Dak Banglow. Union Minister of State for Agriculture, Farmers welfare and Panchayati Raj, Shri Parshottam Rupala as the chief guest of the function, laid foundation stone of Storage Godown of KVK and inspected stalls established by CITH and various departments including animal husbandry, sheep husbandry, Fisheries, horticulture and agriculture departments.

With an objective to encourage the farmers to take up ‘Vanaraja’ farming at the village level so as to enhance meat and egg production and to promote backyard poultry farming as an alternative source of income for improvement of livelihood of rural tribal farmers and farm women, the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Ri-Bhoi distributed 100 numbers of’ Vanaraja’ chicks under TDC component of NICRA Project to 7 numbers of selected farmers from the NICRA adopted village Kyrde.
