ICAR–Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad, successfully concluded its two-week-long ‘Swachhta Hi Seva–2025’ campaign with a valedictory function held today. The nationwide cleanliness initiative was observed at ICAR–CRIDA from 17 September to 2 October 2025, encompassing a wide range of activities aimed at promoting environmental hygiene, waste management, and community awareness.
In his address, Dr. Vinod Kumar Singh, Director, ICAR–CRIDA, underscored the importance of maintaining cleanliness as a daily habit and social responsibility. He urged participants to minimize the use of single-use plastics and adopt the principles of reuse and recycling in their daily lives. Dr. Singh further emphasized the concept of ‘Swabhav Swachhta Sanskar Swachhta’, encouraging everyone to integrate cleanliness into both behavior and culture.

The Director also felicitated the winners of the Rangoli and Essay Competitions organized during the campaign to promote creativity and awareness around the theme of Swachhta.
The experts presented a detailed report on the activities conducted during the 15-day campaign.
Throughout the fortnight, Swachhta-related activities were organized across various campuses and units of the institute, as well as in adopted villages, with active participation from farmers, school children, and members of civil society.
