Shri Gyanendra Dev Tripathi, IAS, Additional Secretary, DARE and Secretary, ICAR, visited the ICAR-IISWC Research Centre, Datia, Madhya Pradesh today along with Dr Ashok Kumar Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University, Jhansi.
During the visit, he reviewed the experimental research sites and visited various research blocks of the Centre. He interacted with scientists and staff members and reviewed the progress of ongoing research activities.
Shri Tripathi emphasized the need to streamline the carbon credit mechanism and strengthen research on carbon sequestration potential. He encouraged the Centre to identify more opportunities for need-based research relevant to the Bundelkhand region and suggested promoting perennial fruit crops as a sustainable farming option.
Discussions were also held on balanced fertilizer use, soil health management, and future research priorities. Shri Tripathi appreciated the efforts of the Centre and encouraged continued research for sustainable agricultural development in the region.
