Report on Campaign for Balanced Use of Fertilizers under ICAR-ATARI Zone X, Hyderabad

The intensive campaign on balanced use of fertilisers conducted on 10 May 2026 across eight districts under ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone X, Hyderabad continued to strengthen scientific nutrient management awareness through field-level extension, training, and digital dissemination. A total of 6 awareness programmes were organized, directly reaching 185 farmers, while 3 training programmes benefited 180 farmers. The campaign also included stakeholder/interface meetings covering 123 participants along with Kisan Mela activities involving 2 participants.

Awareness activities such as expert talks, demonstrations, poster displays, and farmer interactions focused on balanced fertiliser use, soil health management, and sustainable agricultural practices. Digital outreach emerged as the major strength of the campaign, achieving a social media reach of 1,75,537 farmers through WhatsApp, Facebook, X, and other media platforms, complemented by 508 farmers covered through direct physical contact. Extension interventions also included demonstrations on biofertilizers and sustainable practices, thereby enhancing awareness and promoting adoption of balanced fertiliser use across the Zone.

The intensive campaign on balanced use of fertilisers conducted on 10 May 2026 across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry under ICAR–ATARI Zone X, Hyderabad covered all 72 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), demonstrating continued efforts in promoting scientific nutrient management through extension activities and digital outreach.

Digital dissemination emerged as a major strength of the campaign, achieving a social media outreach of 1,81,747 farmers through WhatsApp, Facebook, X, and other media platforms, complemented by 508 farmers covered through direct physical contact. Extension interventions further included demonstrations on biofertilizers and other sustainable practices along with wall writings and poster campaigns, thereby enhancing awareness and promoting adoption of balanced fertiliser practices across the Zone.
